Retro, color-blocked coats boasting a super-soft sherpa lining. Faux fur and suede pullover bandanas in chic cream and milk chocolate–brown colors. Cool camo-printed hooded coats and cozy mushroom-print fleece pajamas.
Your pet’s fall and winter wardrobe this year might just be as stylish as yours—if not more! That’s right, fashion trends for pets this season are bolder and more reflective of human trends than ever.
From cabincore to hyper-textured outdoor wear, Chewy’s Design and Trend Analyst, San Tran, fills us in on the hottest fall pet fashion trends—and, more importantly, how pet parents (like you) can help their pets get the look, too.
The Hottest Fall/Winter 2023 Pet Fashion Trends
You’ve heard of the dopamine dressing trend, where we humans wore bold colors and playful, eye-catching prints and mixed-and-matched textures for the sole purpose of boosting our mood. Well, this fall, pets are getting in on the action, too.
The trend is called “Joyful Expression” and it even embraces top fall color trends for humans, including yellow (more specifically, Pantone 13-0751 High Visibility) and hot pink (Pantone 17-2624 Rose Violet).
“For fall, we bring expressive graphics, key color-blocked silhouettes and bold Nordic patterns to invoke a sense of joyful emotion,” Tran says.

Cabincore—the warm and cozy aesthetic that romanticizes A-frame cabin life via wooly throws, lit sandalwood candles, oversized scarves in classic plaid prints, fireside chats, brisk walks in the forest whilst gripping enamel mugs poured to the brim with hot cocoa, and Fleet Foxes on an endless loop—has entered the pet world. And we welcome it with open, Fair Isle sweater–covered arms.
“The outdoor trend is now a lifestyle,” says Tran, “and we are continuing to expand our assortment with ready-to-explore looks shown in textures, like corduroy coats, alongside cozy and familiar fireside patterns and colors in tartan plaids and earthy Fair Isles.”
Speaking of corduroy, your pet’s new favorite coat might just be Frisco’s new lux corduroy coat. It boasts a polar fleece lining (for extra warmth) and a removable hood with a faux fur lining (for extra style points).

Sherpa, faux fur, waffle knit, leather, quilt: Pets can dress in a variety of textures this fall thanks to the Hyper Texture trend, which aims to “create a multi-sensory experience for our furry friends,” Tran says.
“We’ve combined the warm and comforting hand feel of sherpa and faux fur fabrics with soft faux leathers and over-stuffed quilted woven fabrics,” Tran says. And the results are gorgeous.
Frisco’s all-black Faux Leather Parka, for example, is a faux leather jacket that boasts a faux fur-trimmed hood; while Frisco’s Quilted Coat is a collared coat that combines a chocolate-brown, onion-quilted shell with a light gray–hued sherpa material. And one of our favorites is Frisco’s cream-colored, diamond-quilted Sherpa Zipper Coat with its bright-red trim and pocket.
“We wanted to ensure that there was something for everyone, including sherpa-lined parkas for those that crave warmth and on-trend onion-quilted hybrid coats for versatility in layering and style,” Tran says.

For many of us, the arrival of fall means slowing down, bundling up in only the most comfortable clothing (think oversized sweaters and cozy pajamas) and lounging around the house. And this year, pets will have even more cozy outfits to choose from thanks to the Homebody Fall trend, which was “designed for the pet that enjoys their time being surrounded in comfort,” says Tran.
Whether you slip your pet into Frisco’s new wubby textured sherpa hoodie or accessorize your pet with Frisco’s super-chic, cream-hued reversible bandana snood, “your pet will feel cozy throughout the season.”

Mushroom decor and print is everywhere this year—and that includes on your pet’s back. Dubbed “Natureverse” by Tran, this outdoorsy trend is different from Cabincore in that it embraces not only spending more time outdoors but also expressing one’s love for nature, including sartorially.
“We saw an opportunity to really grow our outerwear selection and make a truly viable collection that was both functional and fun,” Tran says.
Frisco’s Urban City Camo Hooded Coat, for example, features a bold camouflage print and a sherpa lining that’ll keep your pet warm on your walks.
“Urban color–inspired camouflage and modern mushroom prints are both rooted in the need to be closer to nature,” Tran says. “Your pet will be ready for both indoor play and outdoor exploration.”
Indoors, dress your pet in Frisco’s pullover-style Fleece Mushroom PJs, which has an adorable hood trimmed with white sherpa.

Pantone’s color of the year, Viva Magenta, is perfect for pets. Described as “brave and fearless” and promoting “optimism and joy,” the shade speaks to the spirit of our pets: They’re bold, they’re fearless, and they bring immense joy to our lives. So, why not embrace the color in their wardrobe this fall?
Frisco’s Quilted Volume Puffer in burgundy is a sleek, button-up jacket that’ll turn heads and keep your pet warm, and Frisco’s Bubble Knit Multi-Striped Mock Neck Sweater in pink will liven up any room they walk into.
“This electric hue is a powerful and energetic color that evokes feelings of excitement and passion and brings a touch of boldness to the assortment,” Tran says. “Viva Magenta is the perfect color to add newness to the season.”
