‘Keeping Up With the Kattarshians’ is the Only Reality Show Worth Watching

Leave it to kittens to turn reality programming into something wholesome and helpful (and completely adorable) for once.

Keeping Up With the Kattarshians is a 24-hour GoPro live stream of orphaned, weeks-old kittens living together under one cat playhouse roof where anything can happen. For the most part, it’s a lot of napping and playing.

The project—which was conceived by Iceland’s SKOT Productions and was done in cooperation with the The Icelandic Cat Protection Society—is designed to help these feline siblings find their forever homes.

According to the UK’s Telegraph, the cats, along with their mother, were found abandoned in a parking lot in Reykjavik.

Thankfully, this brilliant reality show idea worked—all of the kitties have since been adopted and will be heading to their new homes soon.

The kitties—Gudni, Briet, Stubbor, and Ronja—are already bona fide stars, capturing the hearts of viewers in Iceland and around the world. Whether they are wrestling with each other, or simply walking up their teeny tiny steps to the top floor, it’s impossible not to be hooked on the show.

Of course, the cats are getting the proper care in the midst of their newfound fame. As explained on the live stream website, “Employees and volunteers from The Icelandic Cat Protection Society take care of the kittens and make sure they get a sufficient time with people, which is very important. They also take care of housekeeping, cleaning the litter box and serving food.”

Since this idea was such a success, Kattarshian’s producer Inga Lind Karlsdóttirassures hopes that the series will now have a revolving cast of kittens up for adoption.

In an interview with Vice‘s Broadly, she explains, “We’re going to be putting a new litter in here in the coming days—probably next week. We’ll fix up the house, put another camera or so in there, and then have more orphan kittens ready to move in.”

You can’t script television this purr-fect.
