Liev Schreiber Adopts Two Displaced Hurricane Harvey Dogs

Anyone who watches his Showtime drama series “Ray Donovan” could tell you Liev Schreiber is a doggone good actor, but as it turns out, he’s a doggone good guy, too.

During an appearance on “Live with Ryan and Kelly,” the star met two adorable dogs that were also guests on the show. The young pups were displaced by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and rescued by the group Home for Good. They made their way from Houston to New York City to help raise awareness for pets affected by the natural disaster.

Schreiber fell in love with the scruffy and scrappy survivors backstage and knew they’d be the perfect addition to his family.

The actor told hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest during his segment that his two young sons have been wanting a dog. But after meeting the pups, Schreiber decided it would be best not to separate the pair. He adopted both of them.

In an even cuter backstage moment, Schreiber called his ex Naomi Watts, whom he shares custody of his children with, to show her the doggies and make sure it was okay to bring them home. (It was, of course, totally cool with the equally big-hearted star.)

With her blessing and their kids’ excitement, Schreiber took the puppies home and shared a photo on his Instagram of the dogs’ journey to their new forever home.

Now, hang on to your hats, because it gets even sweeter: Schreiber posted another photo on his page just a few hours later of the pups happy and settled into their new NYC digs.
