We’re Partnering with Greater Good Charities to Support Animal Shelters and Rescues Impacted by Current...

Here at Chewy we’re not only dedicated to making sure you get what you need to keep your pets happy and healthy, we are also committed to helping animals in shelters and rescues. Since our earliest days as a company, we have used our resources to support this essential mission and now, with events rapidly unfolding and dramatic impacts being felt at facilities across the country, we are focused on supporting those most in need.

Pets have the power to connect people, and they bring us delight and comfort; Our world is just better with more of them in it. In times such as these, we need to make sure that their welfare is not overshadowed by current events. We are proud to work alongside organizations such as Greater Good Charities (a charitable organization that works to improve the health and well-being of people, pets, and the planet) and other non-profit partners to donate more than $2.95 million in pet food, healthcare supplies and other products to animal welfare organizations most severely affected by the regional economic impact of the coronavirus. Shelters and rescues are reporting exponential activity due to the pandemic and anticipate greater need in the near future.

“By partnering with Greater Good Charities, we are able to direct resources to pets in highly impacted regions who need it most,” said Sumit Singh, CEO at Chewy. “We hope that our donation makes it possible for many shelters to continue to save pets’ lives through this difficult time.”

Over the last 30 days, Chewy and its network of non-profit distribution, shelter and rescue partners have focused efforts on regions most immediately impacted by the economic and social effects of the coronavirus, including California, Washington, New York, and others. Looking forward, we will continue directing ongoing food and product donations through the month of April, and beyond, with the assistance of Greater Good Charities.

"The unprecedented sheltering crisis that has resulted from the rapidly evolving COVID-19 outbreak leaves many animal welfare organizations without basic supplies, and pet food is in especially in high demand,” said Liz Baker, CEO at Greater Good Charities.

It is our privilege to be able to help. And as always, we thank you, our customers, for supporting Chewy. Your trust in us as your online source for pet products, supplies and prescriptions allows us to help shelters and rescues in need. We hope you will visit this site and follow us on our social channels for the latest news and updates.
