perfect for weaning kitten
perfect height for little kitten just starting on solid food. She likes to put her paws in the bowl and there is plenty of room for her to do that and keep her paws clean. My only complaint is I wish they were microwave safe because she wont eat cold food so I have to heat it in a separate dish.

My old & picky cat loves these
I bought three of these within the last year or more & I am currently going to purchase two more. My cat is very picky when eating her food & I was always able to tell that she did not line sticking her face down in bowls with high edges. I then realized that made sense considering their whiskers would be hitting the edges of the bowl when getting down in there. While I do still have to gather the last bits of her food at the edge of this dish to get her to finish it all, it really does work wonders for my kitty. Perfect for my old guy.
Oslo was recently diagnosed with spinal arthritis and I could tell he was getting uncomfortable with eating. He would take many breaks and walk away after just a few bites. I would often have to follow him around to get him to eat bits here and there until he was full. Since he started using this taller dish, he no longer takes breaks and walks away. He seems to enjoy comfortably standing and eating what he desires before he leaves for a bath. GREAT for a multi-dog household
I have three dogs, and I am constantly filling water bowls! I had a smaller version of this, but the big one is great! And for those who criticized it because the water gets slimy after "a day or two" (someone even said they changed theirs once a week!), you should be changing your pets' water DAILY - no matter HOW BIG the watering bowl! DUH!

Waterer
We’ve used a larger version for several years. Decided to go with this size for easier handling. Works great, as did the other. Plus dogs can’t tip it over like they enjoyed doing with a regular bowl. They do knock this around once it’s empty as their way of letting us know it’s time to refill.

Out of the feeding bowls I've tried, this one is my favorite to use for my cats! While the silicone bottom is detached, I don't find this an issue personally and find it helps keep the silicone safe and allows me to dishwash the stainless steel bowls. The bowl is shallow, but since I do smaller feedings twice a day, I haven't had issues with the shallowness and it personally helps me visualize how much I'm feeding my cats. It definitely prevents whisker fatigue, and my cats can comfortably lick the bowl clean. If you have a fast eater or want to use this bowl for water, I would not recommend purchasing this bowl. Ants gone from feral cat dry food bowl
For years to keep ants out, I placed a metal dish on top of the bottom of a poultry waterer dish (the kind with a jug on top that screwed onto the dish). I saw this bowl and gave it a try. It really works. I got the 2 cup size. I also tried placing a disposable paper bowl on top so I can just throw out the paper bowl. The disposable paper bowl fits nicely into this 2 cup size too. NO ants at all ever since I got the bowl. I don't have to place the bowl in a water dish either.

This is exactly what I needed for my cats when we go out of town! It has a timer that can be set to feed them when you are not home. It measures out the perfect amount. We are all so in love with this, the cats are drinking more water then before, and before they drank a lot. The only problem is this is not big enough and we need to fill it daily and every morning when we get up, but other then that, the fountain is perfect!! We have been thinking about getting another one, and if you do carry a bigger one we also want to try it on the outside cats since this weather is so hot and they do love the cold water when we change the water for them. Just not sure if this would be good for these hot months or not because of the electric plug in.
