With the upcoming release of the new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie on the horizon, nostalgia for the wildly popular 90’s TV series is back in the pop culture landscape.
Case in point: the official kitty crossover series called, yep, Mighty Morphin Meower Rangers.
The saga—which you can watch on the official Power Rangers media pages, including YouTube and Instagram—follows five ferocious and heroic felines.
In the debut episode, the kitties learn from Zordon (who, in this iteration, is a fish) that they must combine their efforts to battle the villainous Akita Repulsa.
The clip, which is as perfectly cheesy as its source material, has all the classic Power Rangers color costumes, and even the theme song sounds better this time around. To be fair, everything sounds better with meowing kittens in the melody.
It’s the purrrr-fect combination of 90’s nostalgia and felines, two of the Internet’s favorite things. Check it out.
