It’s cold outside and you’re probably craving comfort food like a warm, savory stew. Your dogs are also attuned to the change of seasons, and we think they might enjoy digging into a delicious homemade stew ladled into a bowl, too.

That’s why we created an Instant Pot recipe especially for them: This dog-friendly stew—from recipe developer, cookbook author and food blogger Alison Lewis—is filled with protein-rich beef and nutritious veggies for a drool-worthy canine dish.

This DIY dog treat couldn’t be easier to whip up! All you need is extra-lean beef, golden potatoes, carrots, celery, peas and some flour. After browning the beef, combine the rest of the ingredients in an Instant Pot (or other multi-cooker) and then set it and forget it. In about 30 minutes, you’ll have an dog-friendly stew that’s perfect for the chilly winter months. You can even cozy up and enjoy a bowl yourself with a little extra seasoning.
