Homemade Breakfast Bones for Dogs

Dog’s need energy to start the day, so why not jump-start your pup’s morning with these wonderfully crunchy breakfast bones?

These homemade dog treats are packed with wholesome ingredients like fresh fruits, yogurt, and fiber-rich oats which digest slowly and keep your dog feeling full. These are an ideal treat for your morning walk.

The recipe makes 42 medium-sized dog treats.

Homemade Breakfast Bones for Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 250g/9oz jumbo oats
  • 350g/12oz whole-wheat flour
  • 125g/1 ½oz blueberries
  • ½ cup goat or sheep yogurt
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • Cookie cutter of your choosing

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking rack with parchment paper.

In a large bowl mash the blueberries and banana; add yogurt and mix together.

Add jumbo oats and whole-wheat flour.

Knead the dough and roll it out to approx 5mm thick (if the dough is a bit sticky to handle add a bit more flour).

Cut with cookie cutter.

Place on parchment paper and bake the treats for 30 – 40 minutes or until they are brown.

Turn the oven off and allow the treats to cool inside the oven completely before removing.
