These paw-ssibly addicting homemade dog treats have high-quality ingredients that provide your pupper with the nutrition boost he deserves. We’ve tried several different types of TruFood products for our ingredients, including trays, freeze-dried and toppers—and they were all pup-approved.
Hush Puppies
Ingredients
- 2 trays of Wellness TruFood Tasty Pairings with Chicken, Pumpkin & Beef Grain-Free Dog Food (equals 1 cup)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 cups oats
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
- Pinch of cinnamon
Supplies
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Pan
- Parchment paper
- Spoon for scooping
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Freezing time: 45 minutes
Total time: 1 hour
Yield: 12-15 treats
Steps
- Melt the coconut oil.
- Put the dog food, peanut butter, oats, coconut oil and cinnamon into a mixing bowl and stir until all ingredients are combined.
- Place parchment paper on top of the pan.
- Scoop the mixture into balls and place them on the pan. You can decide which treat size would be best for your pooch.
- Place the treats on the pan and freeze for 45 minutes.
- Take them out of the freezer and store them in the refrigerator.
- Take a hush puppy out and treat your pup!
Power Bones
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups Wellness TruFood Make It Fresh Lamb, Chickpeas and Apples Freeze-Dried Food
- 2 ½ cups water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ¼ cup coconut milk
- ¼ cups oats
Supplies
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Gloves

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Freezing time: 1 hour
Total time: 1 hour and 20 minutes
Yield: 15 treats
Steps
- Put gloves on so that you can safely handle raw food.
- Mix the freeze-dried food with 2 ½ cups of water.
- Wait 5 minutes for the freeze-dried food to absorb the water.
- Add the rest of the ingredients into the bowl and stir.
- Add more oats to get the firmness to your liking.
- Spoon the mixture into both molding trays.
- Freeze for 1 hour.
- Take the treats out of the tray and store in the fridge until it’s treat time!
Totes McOats
Ingredients
- 4 packages Wellness TruFood Chicken Breast, Salmon and Pumpkin Toppers, drained
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 3 cups oats

- Mixing spoon
- Pan
- Parchment paper

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Freezing time: 45 hour
Total time: 1 hour
Yield: 12-15 treats

- Mix the toppers, coconut oil, peanut butter and oats in a bowl until combined.
- Add more oats to get the firmness to your liking.
