Charlie the cat is a YouTube star with something to say. Namely, at the birds and squirrels outside of his window.
Recently, Charlie’s cat dad Derek Zimmerman filmed his pal “mumbling” at said wildlife for an adorable and hilarious clip that’s already stacked up more than 3 million views in just a few days.
“He has always mumbled but it has become more common since I recently moved. He makes these noises when birds and squirrels hang out on our back patio,” Zimmerman tells us.
In the minute-long video, the grey feline chirps and chats to the outside critters, making some seriously cute and amusing sounds.
It’s all of Charlie’s quirks—which Zimmerman says also includes “chasing our dog around the house, sleeping underneath blankets, galloping around the house like a horse, and talking back to me when I talk to him”—that make him so fun to watch.
Zimmerman says that he and his friends and family are proud of Charlie’s Internet fame (including his Instagram following), but the cat owner loves Charlie for plenty of other reasons.
“My favorite thing about being Charlie’s cat dad is that he follows me around and always has to be in the same room as me,” says Zimmerman.
