As educational as it is entertaining, a video of two cats participating in an experiment which requires them to ring a bell and get cat treats has enthralled the Internet.
The clip, which runs just over a minute and made the rounds on Twitter earlier in the year, shows the feline subjects hitting a dinner bell with their paws in order to be rewarded with a treat.
Clever creatures that they are, the well-trained cats learn very quickly to ring the bell as soon as they’re finished with their treat to get another.
We don’t know what’s cuter: watching their little paws ringing the bell, or their looking at the researchers as if to say, ‘Hey, man, where’s the treat, we rang the bell?!’
Either way, it’s proof that dogs aren’t the only ones to take part in Pavlovian experiments and, mainly, that cat videos continue to reign supreme on the web.
