Every pet deserves a special treat. What better way to spoil yours than by making a DIY dog treat? This peanut butter dog treats recipe is a quick and easy way to treat your pet. (They deserve it!)
These mini “mouse” pies might be small but they’re packed with peanut butter—a favorite food among dogs everywhere! Not only is the filling made with all-natural, smooth peanut butter, but also the crust and topping is made with American Journey’s Oven Baked Peanut Butter dog treats. (Just make sure that the peanut butter you use doesn’t contain the artificial sweetener xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.)
No dog can resist the power of peanut butter!
What you'll need:
Ingredients
- 1 bag American Journey Oven Baked Peanut Butter Dog Treats
- ½ cup oats
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
- ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ¾ cup all-natural peanut butter (*make sure it does not contain xylitol)

- 2 bowls
- Measuring spoons
- Measuring cups
- Blender
- 2 plastic bags
- Scissors
- Spoon
- Pastry or basting brush
- Rolling pin

Instructions
1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease muffin tin with oil.
2Add oats and ½ cup of treats in a blender and grind to a fine powder.
3Mix the powder, egg and water in a bowl to create a dough.
4Press about ½ tbsp of dough into each cup of the muffin tin, using your thumb to create an indentation for the filling.
5Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
6Mix peanut butter and yogurt together in a bowl.
7Spoon the filling into a plastic bag and use scissors to cut one corner of the bag.
8Pipe the mixture into each cooled pie crust.
9Place 3 American Journey treats into another plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin to create a crumble topping.
10Top each "mousse" pie with a sprinkle of the crushed treats.
11Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
