A dog harness is a dog walking staple. In fact, many pet parents opt for dog harnesses instead of dog collars. Why? Because they help distribute pressure away from their fur baby’s neck that’s caused by the leash, especially in dogs who pull. The best dog harnesses will have secure leash attachment points, be made with durable, easy to clean materials and have several adjustment points for a comfortable fit.
We’ve rounded up the best-selling, top-rated dog harnesses that have been tested and approved by Chewy dog owners like you, so you can rest assured that you’re getting the best one for your dog-walking duties.

Only could wish this came larger
This collar is perfect in many ways , metal rings and velcro back makes fitting easy , no buckles , and sturdy metal rings to attach the leash ..this is sturdy and comfortable ..but need a larger chest size , 24-32 ? My girls are growing out of this .

Great fit for our Mini Dachshund puppy
Bought the extra small for our mini and will replace with the small once she grows a little bit. Great fit, easy on - easy off.

Exactly as its pictured, bright color, quality build, very comfortable and no more slipping his little legs out when he gets excited!
Best No-Pull Dog Harness
-
Good dog harness
with the front leash attachment I have the advantage if she pulls. I am in control, even in the face of a nearby cat.
-
Great Harness
I have tried several different types but this is the best. Easy to get on and off, adjustable. Keeps dogs in control.
-
Pet Harness Works
Easy to get on and off. Safer than something around the dogs neck. My dog seems to pull less with this harness.
Best Harness for a Puppy

The BEST!
This no pull harness is exactly that, NO PULL. My 120 pound little girl, knows who is in charge now.
-
works
My 50 pound goof is no longer pulling me down the street. One thing. Take it off them when they go to the dog park. Not good for puppy shoulders as it constrains their reach. I didn't see much information about this by my trainer clued me in.

It works plus more!
I would first like to say that not only does this No Pull Harness work, I would like to add something else. I purchased this size but I miss calculated on the sizing. So I contacted PetSafe personally. I was connected with Sara in their customer service department. I explained the situation and she said they have a size guarantee program at no charge including shipping. I then asked her how I should return the Harness I had ordered previously. She exclaimed that I could donated it to my local pet shelter if I would like to do so. Wow, that was so kind of them! I ended up purchasing a couple more items while working with Sara on this day. I...
Best Small Dog Harness

Simple harness.
I have several harnesses but I love the style and fit of this harness. Easy to step in and out. I think for a small dog this gives me great control.
-
Super!!!
I love the clip that allows you to tighten the top. Good quality. Excellent fit for our 11 lb Yorkie-Caren terrier
-
I bought one of these years ago and still use on my Maltese. I wanted a 2nd one
I love how soft it is and easy to put on. The one thing I didn't like this time was that they changed the color of pink. It's hot pink. Not what I wanted. I wanted baby pastel pink for my dainty little girl.

Best Dog Hiking Harness
-
quality
my miniature schnauzer was excited first time she saw it and still does every time she has it put it on her
-
Well Made and Sturdy
Had to order a size up (LARGE) since measurement of chest area was 1" smaller as stated for the medium. My dog is medium and 36 pounds. Satisfied with product and use it daily.
-
Perfect
Since my Golden retriever was big enough to fit into this harness, she wears it every morning when we go for a jog. She is 5 1/2 now. She has a habit of scratching it when she is nervous but, the harness is still in very good shape. I highly recommend it.
Best Walk-in Dog Harness
-
comfortable
I've tried other harnesses and this one work best. It is light weight, has padding on the underside so there is no chaffing. It is easily adjusted in the back. There is only one place to hook the leash in the back.
-
Dog rescuer's dream
I've purchased so many of these for my rescues. One pomeranian still uses his and won't even let his guardians take it off of him because it is his security blanket. I was so thrilled to finally find a harness that truly doesn't press on their throat or trachea when they pull, and it's built so solid that it lasts for years. Worth every penny!

New Sporn Harness
I have had the older version for at least 10 years. This new harness has a mesh front and it seems like it is more comfortable.
Best Dog Car Harness
-
Sturdy construction
We use this to attach a Great Dane to a cable in our SUV so that he cannot wander all over. So technically, we are not using it as recommended, but we could not otherwise fit both dogs in the SUV if ee buckled them to the seat belts. We have had it for months and taken probably a dozen rides and so far so good,

Nice quality
After three trys we finally found a car harness that our dog cannot escape from. Also a special than you to Kurgo customer service with instructions on install and tips on use. It made all the difference knowing they were helping us resolve the issue of our dog backing out of her seatbelt
-
Excellent in every way
We purchased this brand a second time for another pup and the same high quality, ease of size adjustment and comfortable fit. Best review came from Macy who didn’t want to take it off :)
Best Mesh Harness for Dogs
-
Perfect. The chest piece is long enough that the front straps don't rub under her front legs. She is at the borderline for medium versus large but the medium is plenty big enough.
-
a great purchase
I’ve had this harness and leash since my dog was a puppy he’s seven now! It has been washed after every bath and camping trip for seven years! It has kept its nice color never frayed or any of the clasps broke! I’m looking or replace this now only because I’m bored of the color! My dogs a real puller when walking so it’s strong as well. Sadly they only have girly colors in stock so I’ll have to shop elsewhere but I’ll definitely stick with blueberry pet!#blueberrypetamazing

Great harness!
I have an Australian Cattle puppy who has a lot of energy when we go for walks. This harness is fantastic and makes it easy for me to control my pup. The colors are also really pretty
Best Reflective Dog Harness
-
Padded harness with seatbelt slot!
I Like the front or back walking choice and the ease of putting it on and off with clips around neck and on on each side.
-
Fits well, stays in place, and multiple loops
I bought a size small for my mini-GoldenDoodle based on the measurements, and it fits great with minor adjustments. I wanted something cooler, but with enough structure that it didn’t sag like another one I tried. This is great. There are metal loops on the front and the back for connecting the leash. The back loop works to hook him into his car seat, or the back mesh is made to secure a seat belt through it. It’s sturdy and has reflective stitching. Well worth the price.
-
Love it!
This was the third harness that I tried on our mini golden doodle and it was so easy to adjust the fit. I like the color, fit, two different leash hooks and the seatbelt feature. I will definitely recommend this harness!
Best Budget Dog Harness
-
Doesn’t rub my dogs armpits
I have a Frenchie and it’s hard to find the right harness for him. I like that the chest piece is skinnier than other models, and the back is just straps so he won’t overheat.
-
This is our favorite harness
We have 2 beagles, male 3 years old, female, 7 months old. This is our go to harness! It is lightweight for the summer months, fits beautiful when paired with doggie coats in the colder weather and under raincoats as well with the leash hook fitting perfectly. It is very sturdy for when the beagles catch a scent and go into hunting mode with their humans on the other end of the leash. The 7 month old is currently wearing a small, however she is starting to fill out more and will be moving into a medium soon. The 3 year old wears a medium. (He is mature enough to take his harness off when not walking, the 7 month old....she needs to keep...

Nice harness
I’m trying to get her use to wearing the harness. It’s a nice harness. I like the handle so I can pick her quickly if something happening
