  1. Pit Bull isn’t a dog breed.  The term is usually used to refer to one or several different bully breeds, including the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier (also known as Amstaff dogs), English Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the Bull Terrier.
  2. Pit Bulls hail from Britain.
  3. In the early 1900s, they were seen as an All-American family dog, typified by Petey in the “Our Gang”/”Little Rascals” comedies.
  4. Pit Bulls help people by training as service, therapy or rescue dogs.
  5. Pit Bulls do not have locking jaws. Their jaws are the same as any other dog.
  6. Pit Bulls enjoy being active.
  7. Many Pit Bulls have big, goofy personalities.
