“I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June,” said author L.M. Montgomery. June is a generous, big-hearted month. The days are sunny, roses and peonies are in full bloom, school is out and images of vacations and beaches dance in our heads.
With the sun cruising through multi-tasking Gemini, plus Mercury, Venus and Mars all changing signs in early June, life can feel both stimulating and chaotic. The Sagittarius full moon takes place on June 9th, the day Jupiter turns direct, bringing a renewed sense of faith and optimism. The sun enters Cancer June 20th and summer officially begins in the Northern Hemisphere. The Cancer new moon follows on June 23rd.
Compassionate Cancer, an emotional water sign, invites us to trust our intuition rather than logic. A powerful trine between Venus and Pluto June 24th has the potential to transform and deepen our relationships, including the one with ourselves.
The busy, bustling Gemini energy can have kitty wired. Once the sun enters cozy Cancer he may get a bit lazy. Be sensitive to his moods and needs. We have to become animal psychologists and intuitives. But that’s part of the job and the joy.
Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)
Expect the unexpected! Thanks to seductive Venus and electric Uranus (in Aries) on June 3rd, an unexpected romance or a creative idea may take you over. On June 6th, money-magnet Venus enters your financial zone and you could win big via the stock market or real estate, especially June 13th and June 24th. The cozy Cancer new moon on June 23rd takes place in your domestic zone. Slow down and smell the roses.
Even better, slow down and pet the cat! Don’t forget kitty needs his special time. Plus, an Aries cat (like his human) has lots of energy and can be impulsive. Both of you benefit from downtime.
Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20)
May motivated you and got you moving, now it’s time to make those exciting plans real. You’ve got friends in high places. Your guardian planet, Venus, in sensual Taurus (June 6th through July 4th) provides star power and puts you in the right place at the right time. People seek you out and want to help, especially June 24th when Venus and Pluto collaborate on your behalf.
Taurus cats can be extremely stubborn (like their humans) but what motivates them and gets them moving is cat food, which is why it is so important to have the very best.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
With the sun in your sign, you’re the zodiac super star. Your ruler, Mercury, enters Gemini on June 6th (until June 21st) and your mind is on fire. Get your voice, your blog or your book out. June 18th the sun and Uranus enliven your tech savvy zone to help you to spread the word. On June 20th the sun moves into Cancer and you may need to help a family member, so be generous.
High-energy Geminis require meditation and mindfulness but for this you don’t need to go to a class, just stay home with your cat. As Eckhart Tolle said, “I have lived with several Zen masters – all of them cats.”
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Every year at our birthday we have an opportunity to begin again. Use the period before to release anything that no longer serves you. The Cancer new moon on June 23rd initiates your power time. Mercury in Cancer (from June 21st to July 5th) brings inspiration and new ideas—start a journal, create a vision board, brainstorm. Motivator Mars in Cancer provides the ego drive and energy to manifest those ideas.
The sun in laid-back Cancer could make kitty lazy and some new cat toys and games could help. And don’t overdo the snacks – for you or kitty.
Leo (July 23 – Aug 22)
With the Gemini sun and speedy Mercury lighting up your social zone, you’ll have more invitations than an A-list celeb during fashion week. Just don’t abandon the old crowd, in mid-June a dear friend may need your support. Leos thrive on appreciation and applause. Lavish Venus, in Taurus, takes residence in your career zone (June 6th to July 4th) and the extra work you’ve been doing gets you the kudos you deserve.
Your work schedule and social schedule is jammed pack during June, but be sure to make time for kitty. It is important for both of you. As Sigmund Freud says, “time spent with cats is never wasted.”
Virgo (Aug 23 – Sept 22)
The June 9th full moon could be a game changer. You may discover that the ladder you’ve been climbing is leaning against the wrong wall. It takes courage to change directions. Streamline your goals, your update your resume, hire a personal coach. The June 23rd new moon brings new people and fresh concepts. Make sure your passport is up to date, as an opportunity could come from afar June 24th.
One thing about a Virgo cat is that he loves a spanking clean cat litter box, a pristine water bowl and no messy food bowls, please! That can be a source of stress for him.
Libra (Sept 23 – Oct 22)
June 3rd the sun, in fellow air sign Gemini, aligns with worldly Jupiter in Libra. An opportunity to travel abroad, publish or go back to school could arise. If this is something you want, be proactive. You may need to have a relationship discussion with a partner or close friend early June. With loving Venus in Taurus and intelligent Mercury in Gemini, it will go well. Just speak from your heart.
Venus ruled Libras love beauty and harmony and that is true for kitty as well. As James Herriot says, “cats are connoisseurs of comfort.”
Scorpio (Oct 23-Nov 21)
While the Gemini sun (through June 20th) and magical Mercury cruise through your mysterious eighth house, you may find yourself drawn to studying astrology, metaphysics or having a tarot reading. This area comes naturally to Scorpios and may open up a whole new world. The June 9th full moon in your financial zone suggests you may have to budget. Don’t worry; you could score a lucrative side job.
Budget or not, don’t even think of buying cheaper food (or litter) for kitty. One of the most important ways we communicate our love is through the care and feeding of our beloved pets.
Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)
Sagittarius is most alive when they’re learning and, with the sun and Mercury in curious Gemini, you may be inspired to take an online seminar, upgrade your social media skills or learn a language, especially at the June 9th Sagittarius full moon. Just don’t avoid your responsibilities at work. With Saturn currently retrograde in your sign, you need to complete an assignment you’ve been avoiding. Authority figures are watching.
Sadges frequently get wanderlust. You may want to consider bringing kitty. Get a list of pet-friendly hotels and check out the book, “The Cat who Went to Paris.”
Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)
This month the sun, Mercury and Mars all spend time in Cancer and your zone of one-to-one relationships. Both Cancer and Capricorn love a commitment so it may be time to “put a ring on it” or renew your vows—June 1st, 24th and 25th are great dates. Powerful Pluto in Capricorn makes a brilliant aspect to lavish Venus on June 24th. Both planets are associated with wealth, so an investment could pay off.
Let’s face it, Capricorns like to be in control, which is why having a cat is so liberating since they own us and not the other way around. It puts our ego in its proper place and makes us more human.
Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18)
You’re working extra hard, but thanks to the colorful full moon in your fun-loving fifth house on June 9th, there’s plenty of opportunity to play as well. On June 16th elusive Neptune stops in its tracks and there could be a misunderstanding about money. The June 23rd new moon in your well-being zone invites you to start taking better care of your body. Mars, also there, will help you achieve your fitness goals.
Don’t forget kitties’ fitness goals! Consider investing in a new kitty cat tree or condo to give him his own gym.
Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)
Ambitious Mars in Cancer, a fellow water sign, inspires you to push harder and reach higher. You’ll be taking a lot more risks, so keep your seat belt fastened. The Cancer new moon on June 23rd in your fun-loving 5th house heightens your creative drive. Need money for a home project or improvement? That could appear around June 3rd, when the sun and Jupiter bless your domestic zone.
Like his human, a Pisces cat is extremely sensitive to the environment. Loud noises, smells, even changes in the weather. It’s important to be sensitive to theses subtle shifts.
