Two-year-old Sam is small, but he’s got a big heart, especially when it comes to foster kittens. The young California boy helps his mom, Lacey, care for young kittens while they wait to be placed into forever homes.
The family got their first set of foster kittens this summer from the Cat House On the Kings in Parlier, California, Love Meow reports. From Day 1, Sam showed an interest in the new additions. When he first met them, he gently reached out to pet them with one little finger.
“We could tell at first he was figuring out that they were mini versions of our own (big, orange) cat,” Lacey told Love Meow. He would watch us very closely as we carefully held the kittens.”
Sam takes very good care of his furry charges. He helps feed them, fills up their water, plays with them and gives them lots of TLC.
“Any time we get new babies Sam looks at them and says, ‘Hi, little boo boos. They are so cute, so precious,’ then sticks his fingers in the carrier and tries to pet them,” Lacey said. “When they come up, he says, ‘They love me, they love me.’”
It just goes to show that kindness and compassion knows no age.
